A trip to Swanage in March
Beautiful weather in Swanage, Dorset, UK this weekend. Saturday was Sunny all day and Sunday was wonderfully windy. Great to be at the sea side.
No need for the life boats fortunately
A great view towards "Old Harry" rocks, Handfast point in the distance, looking down the lifeboat ramp. Many lifeboat callouts over the years, below.
Choppy waters leading out to the pier
Lamp posts pointing to "Old Harry"
Even the pigeon was staying indoors, much to windy.
Where to next? Peveril point I think first and then the steam trains later...
Sunny but very windy and feeling like it should be raining
In the far distance is the Isle of White
Old WW2 gun emplacements reclaimed by the sea
Remains of the 4" gun battery base, below
And another 4" gun and observation and control post
View out to Durlston Castle on the headland, below
The view back into Swanage with the lifeboat ramp and then the pier in the distance view
Steam trains [and some beach huts]!
