C3. Citron Etrog

Citron Medica "Etrog"

Update 18th October 2020

Here is my Etrog.   Not such a great year for it.  I think my mistake was to sit it on the garden staging where it must be a bit too exposed.  Late this year I moved most of my citrus to the ground and clumped them together and that seems the best plan.  All the new growth you can see is since I moved the tree.  Compare it to last year and you see how few leaves it has now. But its looking healthy anyway.

Update 27th July 2019

I have changed the soil in the pot this weekend.   I used organic compost, Perlite and Vermiculite in equal parts.  The old soil was heavy and compacted.  I removed as much of it off the rootball as I thought safe to do and reused the same pot.  Its certainly lighter to lift the pot now.

Update - July 12th 2019

Its doing OK but has been eaten buy snails and also had a greenfly infestation.
Just after these pictures were taken, I gave it a really good clean and washed off all the bugs. Some scale as well.  Its got some good new growth and is flowering.  A bit of branch die back keeps happening.

Aphid infestation before I cleaned them off with warm soapy water.
A good cleaning with soapy water all over the leaves.

2008

I have had this Citron over 10-years now,  the picture below is October 2018

And this picture, below - Spring of 2018

A couple of years back it started to fail and lose leaves.  I have managed to get it more healthier now and this photograph does not do it justice.   This was taken at the beginning of last year [2018] and during the year it has really grown well and put on many new leaves. You can see new growth on it
already.

Here it is in May 2018 with new young leaves sprouting out, a welcome site, below

The picture below was taken in 2007, skinny youth then.
