C10. Citrus Limon - Meyer

Citrus Lemon - X Limon "Lunario" Meyer

Update - 18th October 2020

Here is my Lunario lemon tree in the greenhouse ready for overwintering.  Its dropped its old curled leaves and has free new growth.   Not a massive growth but certainly looking healthier than it used to, plus it rarely drops leaves like it regularly did in the past.

Update - July 14th 2019

The tree was really straggly so I cut it back a lot to make it smaller and give it some shape.  Here it is now, a few months after it pruning. New leaf growth coming through and the older curled leaves are getting replaced  slowly.   Lots of lemons on it as usual.  Still not back to its original glory maybe, but I think it might prefer to be in a conservatory, and thats not going to happen.

2018

This is a really tall Orange, about 7-feet tall.    Its beautiful but very tricky to look after.   I think it should really be indoors in a cold conservatory all year around

Anyway, its outside most of the year and once it settles down its happy.    In the picture it had recently decided to curl all its leaves, just to see if I got annoyed about its watering habits.

Very hard to judge what it likes though.  I have owned this since 2016 and it heavily drops its leaves  if I don't get its first watering right after its out of the greenhouse in the late spring.

Also sags very quickly if under watered, and fruit goes soft. But responds immediately to a watering that it likes.  Then sometimes just drops it leaves just to annoy me.  Then grows them back really quickly.

Overwintering it can also be difficult as it needs watering every month unlike all my other Citrus.
A real favorite of mine, mainly because it has a bit of attitude about it.

And a picture below showing it when its settled down a bit in the year
