Concord 2004

You see the oddest things on a boat - Concord marooned on the Thames in Isleworth, West London.

The retired Concord jet airliner was being transported up to Scotland to a museum.   The plan being to drive it by truck from Heathrow airport a few miles to the Thames river.  Then by barge down the Thames to the sea and along the east coast of the country up to Scotland.

The Thames that year was particularly high and I think they were worried about the barge getting stuck under the low Thames bridges this far up the river.  So Concord spent the summer as a tourist attraction opposite the famous "London Apprentice" pub.
